Why it holds up here
Gulf Coast humidity and slab moisture wreck a lot of floors. Vinyl handles both. On glue-down commercial work we test slab moisture first, because the wrong adhesive on a wet slab fails within a year no matter how good the install looks on day one.

Is LVT really waterproof?
The plank itself is. Water can still get into seams and reach the subfloor if it sits, so we seal perimeters in wet areas like bathrooms and laundry rooms.
Can you install over my existing floor?
Sometimes. It depends on what's down and how flat it is. We check on the estimate visit and tell you straight whether it needs to come up.
What's the difference between LVT and laminate?
LVT is vinyl and waterproof. Laminate has a wood-fiber core and swells if water sits on it. For Houston kitchens and baths we usually steer people to LVT.
